About Us

Carol graduated from Ohio State University in 1977 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She practiced traditional occupational therapy for 18 years in a variety of settings, including neonatal intensive care units, acute and rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient settings, school systems, home health agencies, and long term care facilities.

She began studying myofascial release in 1989 and craniosacral therapy in 1993. Since then, she has received over 1000 hours in training in craniosacral therapy, lymph drainage, myofascial release, visceral manipulation and other complimentary manual therapy techniques.

She has taught or assisted in teaching several classes in craniosacral therapy and continues to offer classes in craniosacral therapy and related therapy techniques.

In 1995, she started a part-time practice specializing in craniosacral therapy and expanded to a full time practice in 1997. She joined her practice with Tammy Calder in 2005.

 

Tammy Calder::Occupational Therapist

Tammy Calder graduated from the University of Florida in 1986 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She practiced Occupational Therapy for 17 years prior to starting her own practice. She spent the first six years specializing in Neuro Rehab working with primarily stroke and head injury patients. Following that she worked in a variety of settings throughout the country including: Orthopedics, acute care rehabilitation, home health and geriatric rehab.

She has studied and practiced myofascial release since 1989 and started to study CranioSacral Therapy in 2001. Through passion and prayer, Tammy was able to start her own practice in 2003. Since that time, she had continued her studies to the most advanced level in CranioSacral Therapy. Tammy also studied and practices Lymph Drainage, and Visceral Manipulation in her practice.

Tammy was asked to be a Teacher's Assistant for Dr. John Upledger at the Advanced II CranioSacral Therapy course in 2008. Dr. Upledger is the founder of the CranioSacral Therapy. Tammy has also spoke and taught at various schools and different health related organizations including, The South Carolina Occupational Therapy Association and Furman University.

In 2005, Tammy joined her practice with Carol Ball. Together, they developed the CranioSacral Center of the Carolinas.
